After years of wanting to become a writer, I finally built a writing practice—during the hardest period of my life. 

Through writing, I found my voice, processed painful life changes, launched a new career, and (best of all) let go of the horrible shame I’d felt when I was putting off my creative dreams.

I’ve made it my mission to help aspiring and blocked creatives connect to their art. Because if you want to create, chances are you need to. Perfectionism, self-criticism, old wounds, new struggles—whatever’s holding you back, I’m here to help.

As a writer, my background is in poetry, and I'm currently working on my first novel. (A suspense novel, in case you're curious, and yes, it's terrifying.) My work has been featured in Shape.com, The Manifest-Station, Stirring: A Literary Collection, Penny, Day One, The Hartskill Review, and Rust+Moth.

My journey as an editor

I began my editing career—red pen in hand—at a major publishing house in New York City. I edited everything from fiction and memoir to nonfiction books about neuroscience, American history, and wine. I learned to see with the eyes of an editor: What was missing, and what could be pruned away? 

Sure, I did plenty of line editing, turning each sentence into its own little work of art, but I developed a passion for working with authors who struggled to grow the seeds of their ideas into a finished product.
